CEC’s mission is to identify, advocate, raise awareness, and develop effective programs to solve the most pressing environmental issues that affect the Santa Barbara region. We are a solutions-based organization, currently focused on moving the Santa Barbara region away from fossil fuels and energy-intensive products.
The mission of the Foodbank is to provide nourishment to those in need by acquiring and distributing safe nutritious foods via local agencies and providing education to solve hunger and nutrition problems in Santa Barbara County.
The Orfalea Foundation supports programs that promote healthy development and build skills for success in learning and in life. Across its range of focus areas, including education, school food reform, youth development, and community enrichment, the foundation works through collaborative initiatives and entrepreneurial partnerships to strengthen communities by empowering individuals. The Santa Barbara Foundation was established in 1928 to enrich the lives of people from Santa Maria to Carpinteria by building philanthropy, strengthening the nonprofit sector and solving community problems. The foundation has launched the LEAF Initiative to foster strategic approaches to improve and sustain landscapes, ecosystems, agriculture and the food system in Santa Barbara County.
