Invested in Two More Worm Bins, a Compost Tea Brewer, and Scaled Up

  • Began scaling up the production of vermicast to layer onto the top soil. Purchased a compost tea brewer to oxygenate the vermicast onsite and apply it via drip to the land.
  • Restoration Oaks receives food scraps from New Frontiers Market and applies the vermicast extract to certain plots and tracks data over time.
  • “If I have food waste and put around 70 lbs in my bin at the beginning of the week, I will get about 40 or 50 lbs of nutrient rich organic matter by the end of the week to apply to the farm,” said Ed Seaman, owner of Santa Barbara Blueberries and Founder of Wildlands Foundation.
