Walter Lafky, CEO of Harvestly.co and a Cal Poly student, always had an interest in the food system. Growing up in Oregon, he grew and sold tomatoes. From this experience, he realized there was a gap in the food system when it came to the connection between local customers and local food producers.
During his second year in college, Lafky launched Harvestly.co, a listing and fulfillment service that delivers local produce to your door. Run by Cal Poly students, Harvestly aims to build a more sustainable and healthy food system by connecting local vendors directly to consumers in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County.
